We don't have control over living in it or living more presently in the next one. I have never believed that hullaballoo taught in acting class. Sometimes we live in that moment and the future fades, and most times we don't. But our control over that happening is non-existent.

If I recall, that sandwich and a beer came with a conversation about MY future. My fault, of course. I constantly find myself taking the smallest things and turning them into a grandiose fantasy of what will happen the next time I'm with this person, or what my life would be like far down the road with this person. I think the future is terrifying, some sort of great unknown and we find solace in making plans and pinning a person down to be with you in the near to distant future. It makes it all the less frightening and rather romantic.

I agree though, savor the moment that you have. There is something wonderful about a beautiful stasis. The moment when you appreciate what is right in front of you for just being in front of you. The future just fucks everything up and freaks everyone out.Katienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1731492395426208086.post-53869482443532121292011-06-30T12:06:52.008-04:002011-06-30T12:06:52.008-04:00I love this. It reminds me of us sitting at the bar/counter in your house gossiping about life and the future. God I miss you.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01995665072500921669noreply@blogger.com
