The emotional consequences of being disowned can be as harsh as financial problems. Money comes and money goes, but dysfunctional families are forever. I do see your point though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1731492395426208086.post-75074199376717780222011-10-20T01:45:38.910-04:002011-10-20T01:45:38.910-04:00Well K, I was thinking mostly about dependency. If I come out and my parents disown me or kick me out of the house (this kind of thing happened not infrequently in the church where I grew up) where will I live, how will I pay for school, etc. I had a plan for all of these things, but I still wanted to protect myself. I can see why a person still heavily dependent on her parents would still want to keep her parents in the proverbial dark. An adult, on the other hand, while she might still have plenty of people who would be affected, would not be put into financial jeopardy.Aaron C. Do you think people stop caring what others think about them when they reach a certain age? Do you think, as much as we may want to not care what other people think, that we ever stop caring? Furthermore, many people use facebook primarily to stay in touch with family - not for socializing with their friends. boo to that criteria. Facebook (stalkbook) is a creepy public forum and I feel uncomfortable with the little I do reveal about myself on it.
-K
p.s. Friend me on Facebook!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
