Tom Stoppard's
The Coast of Utopia, which received ten Tony nominations yesterday and is slated to win a whole bunch of them, is wonderful. I have had this book on my shelf for about four years (the play premiered in London in '02) and I just today picked it up. It's
lovely. Oh that Tom Stoppard. I needed a little break from all of the queer theory I'm swallowing (so to speak) and this play was perfect for that. It's a trilogy, so I have two other parts to read, but if the other two are anything like
Voyage, its first segment, I'm in for a real treat.
