I had never heard of Dennis King before, but he's very good in this... as long as he's singing. Other than that, well, I've already seen the 1938 non-musical version
If I Were King, so I guess I just thought it was old hat. And I know that the Frank Lloyd movie came out eight years later, and I realize that isn't really fair to the ol'
Vagabond King. But either way, I wasn't into it.
