I don't like David Lynch in the first place (sacrilege! I know!), but this film felt particularly disconnected and arbitrary. In fact, it seems to me like simply a bad adaptation of a necessarily much longer, more complicated novel. Lynch just tried unsuccessfully to shove all of it into the movie. One does see where George Miller got his villains from, though.
Mad Max: Fury Road is feeling even more derivative than usual after this movie.
