Rusty Knife

Rusty Knife (錆びたナイフ) is a pretty good Japanese noir, but it's a little too wordy, and the big villain doesn't really show up until the end, so his big reveal isn't that interesting. I really liked the ending, though. The relationship between Ishihara Yūjirō and Kitahara Mie makes this an above average yakuza picture.

I, of course, watched this on the Criterion Channel as part of their series Japanese Noir. This series has been incredible.
