Listen, hate all you want, but Coming 2 America made me laugh a lot. It's not out of control funny, but it has some really solid jokes.
And most importantly the gowns. Actually, the suits too! Ruth Carter fucking outdid herself on this movie. Nomzamo Mbatha's wedding dress had my jaw on the floor. Every outfit is incredible. It's extraordinary work. Ruth Carter is a national treasure.
This film was also justly nominated for hair and makeup. The weird character makeup is hilarious (and typical of an Eddie Murphy comedy), and the hair is exquisite.
